Skye Reckerds is an AI rockstar created by songwriter Bibi Benton. Born from over a decade of songwriting, poetry, and existential spirals, Skye brings Bibi’s imagination to life through alternative pop-rock, dark humor, and a little bit of magic.
Behind Skye is a very human creative process. Bibi writes the lyrics, composes the melodies, records vocal demos, and directs the artistic vision. AI helps transform those ideas into fully produced songs, including Skye’s digitally generated voice.
Skye Reckerds is the AI alter ego of songwriter Bibi, a self-proclaimed wizard of words with a knack for turning anxious thoughts into guitar-driven indie pop-rock.
Inspired by Amy Winehouse’s story, Bibi began writing songs at 18, finding an outlet for emotions she couldn’t otherwise express. Writing became a lifeline, eventually leading to Sad to the Bone (2021), a self-published, hand illustrated collection of thoughts, lyrics and poetry. Printed locally in sunny West Hollywood, California.
After years of writing songs she never thought anyone would hear, Bibi decided in 2023 that she wanted to make music, not just write it. She began releasing music using her human voice in 2025, but eventually stumbled upon AI where she created Skye Reckerds, a fictional rockstar with very real feelings and a better singing voice.
Bibi writes every lyric and melody, records vocal demos, and directs AI-assisted production, effectively ghostwriting for her own alter ego while continuing to develop her own music and skills (vocals, instruments).
The result is darkly humorous, guitar-driven indie pop-rock about anxiety, identity, existential dread, and the general inconvenience of being alive.
